Tragically, David Michael Sandt is suspected to be a victims of California serial murderer, Randy Kraft who was convicted of murdering 16 men and boys between 1972 and 1983 and is on death row for his crimes. He was known as the “Scorecard Killer.” and was known to have killed at least another 51 young men and boys and is the most prolific serial murderer in California history.

The identity of a man who was found stabbed to death Monday at the side of a vacant house in Long Beach has been confirmed through fingerprints, police said. Sgt. Bob Forbes said the victim, David Michael Sandt, 30, was identified through prints on record in Auburn, where he had been held for a misdemeanor drug offense.

One unknown entry upon the scorecard reads “Hari Kari.” This entry may refer to the stabbing murder of 30-year-old David Michael Sandt, who was found sexually assaulted and stabbed to death close to a vacant house in Long Beach on January 13, 1975. The multiple stab wounds inflicted were to Sandt’s stomach, and his body was found in a kneeling position with his arms extended in front of him in a position reminiscent of the Japanese ritual suicide practice known as Hara-kiri.
Sandt’s body was discovered on the grass at 2311 E. 2nd Street. Sandt was stabbed several times in the stomach. He had been sexually assaulted. Sandt was found in a kneeling-bow position with his hands stretched out over his head and his pants were lowered just about his knees. His body was found in a position reminiscent of the Japanese ritual suicide practice known as “HARA KIRI”. The coded word “HARI KARI” is represented on Kraft’s Scorecard found in his trunk the night of his arrest. (It is believed he was not sure of the spelling on this ritual)
