Tragically, Geoffrey Nelson was one of the victims of California serial murderer, Randy Kraft who was convicted of murdering 16 men and boys between 1972 and 1983 and is on death row for his crimes. He was known as the “Scorecard Killer.” He was known to have killed at least another 51 young men and boys and is the most prolific serial murderer in California history.
Nelson was friends with Roger DeVaul. They were both from Buena Park. Nelson’s body was discovered nude on the Euclid on-ramp to the Garden Grove Freeway. Nelson was thrown from a moving vehicle Nelson had been sexually mutilated and emasculated. The cause of death was strangulation. He had propranolol and diazepam in his system. Nelson was last seen alive early February 12, 1983. They were two of the 16 victims that Kraft was found guilty of murdering. Prosecutors believe Nelson and DeVaul are linked to the coded word “2 IN 1 BEACH” represented on Kraft’s Scorecard found in his trunk the night of his arrest.
