Autopsy Results Awaited in Kidwell Death
Police today awaited results of an autopsy to determine whether the death of Indianapolis bank employe Donald Kidwell was murder or suicide. Investigators at first believed Kidwell had committed suicide after his body was found a week ago, locked in the trunk of his car parked on a rural Hendricks County Lane. However, police received new information yesterday that led them to suspect murder in the case and indicating a possible link between Kidwell’s death and the death of 15-year-old Michael Petree, whose nude body was found in a Hamilton County ditch June 16. Police said because both Kidwell and Petree had close friends and associates who were homosexuals, there is a possibility of a homosexual link in the deaths. Detectives also are investigating the possibility the deaths may be drug-related.
