Roland Gerald Young (23)

Born
Lynwood, Los Angeles County, California
Death
11 Jun 1978, Irvine, Orange County, California
Tragically, Roland Young was one of the victims of California serial murderer, Randy Kraft who was convicted of murdering 16 men and boys between 1972 and 1983 and is on death row for his crimes. He was known as the “Scorecard Killer.” He was known to have killed at least another 51 young men and boys and is the most prolific serial murderer in California history.
Young’s body was discovered on the Irvine Center Drive on-ramp to I-405. The location of his body was west of Deerwood Drive. Young had been redressed and thrown from a moving vehicle. He had been sexually mutilated and stabbed several times in the heart. Young’s wrists were bound, and his genitals were severed. Alcohol and Diazepam were found in his system. Young had recently been released from “JAIL” and was “OUT” on a misdemeanor charge. Prosecutors believe Young is linked to the coded word “JAIL OUT” represented on Kraft’s Scorecard found in his trunk the night of his arrest.
