Tragically, Wayne Dukette was one of the victims of California serial murderer Randy Steven Kraft who was convicted of murdering 16 men and boys between 1972 and 1983 and is on death row for his crimes. He was known as the “Scorecard Killer.” He was known to have killed at least another 51 young men and boys and is the most prolific serial murderer in California history. 

Wayne was found on October 5th, 1971 beside Ortega Highway. His body was nude and badly decomposed thus foul play could not be certain.

The connection to Kraft was only made after his arrest in 1983 where his “scorecard list” had an entry named “STABLES”; the gay bar where Wayne worked.

It’s worth pointing out Randy Kraft has never been tried for the murder of Wayne and has never confessed. Due to his own notes and other evidence it’s likely he committed the crime, but due to never being tried he is only a suspect in the cases. Due to the fact he already received the death penalty and is currently on death row waiting to be executed, he is unlikely to be tried for Waynes murder.
